Tuesday....

Tuesday started out cool and crisp--I did not bargain for chilly weather! But I loved it! Thankfully it warmed up nicely within a few hours...we had a lovely drive to Nashville, and arrived a little after noon. We went to the Visitor Center, and realized we really only had time to see one big thing (everything closes at 5) , so we settled on the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The building was beautiful! We arrived at the perfect time, too! The Hall films a cable country talk show, and yesterday the guests were Wynonna Judd and Chris Young! We decided to sacrifice the time walking around to stand in line for the taping of the show! It was so much fun! It was fascinating to see how they tape a show, and Wynonna--well, her voice is a force of nature, for sure. She has a great sense of humor, and she blew us away with her mini concert. It was worth the wait!

After the show, we walked around the museum. They had a Hank Williams exhibit that Craig's dad, Glenn, would have loved!! It was a wonderful day!

Then, off to our hotel--we have stuck with Best Western so far, and have been very pleased. We got cleaned up and dressed up, and went to a restaurant called Merchants for our 25th anniversary dinner.

It was LOVELY! The building was quite old, and right in the heart of downtown Nashville. Of course, we cannot get the Northeast out of our hearts, or palattes--I got Sea Scallops and Craig ordered a New York strip steak! Craig tried something he had never tried before for an appy-fried green tomatoes--YUMMMM!

Our anniversary dinner was lovely..and nostalgic....and bittersweet--we are on the edge of the empty nest! It is exciting AND a bit scary for me...I sure am enjoying my husband, and this trip, so I am thinking the empty nest will be a blessing! The truth is, everything we see, and experience, we have to immediately tell the kids about...lol so, no matter what, the kids do come with us a LITTLE bit, when we go away. I love my kids so much!!

Today (now it's Wednesday) we are off to Oklahoma City. My dad and his wife, Betty, are driving up from Dallas to meet us for the evening. They will stay at the hotel with us, and then they will see us off in the morning. FUN FUN FUN!
