MARVELOUS...
UNBELIEVABLE...
STUNNING...
FULFILLING....
OVERWHELMING...
ASTOUNDING...
DAZZLING...
TRANQUIL....
throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Psalm 90:1,2

Craig and I had the most wonderful day at the Grand Canyon. It truly is a challenge to find words to attempt to describe the beauty we experienced today. It is hard to imagine seeing the splendid things we saw, and not think about the Creator...all day long I was in the constant state of amazement....
You run in to wonderful people in National Parks! You get so many opportunities to talk with them, especially by offering to take a picture of the WHOLE family! I do love people, and always look forward to connecting with these interesting individuals who are on the same trek as we are...we met a couple for the East Coast who also have four children, all about the ages of ours, and they are just starting to feel the empty nest also..there is an understanding that just IS....they knew all about Nicholas' school, Westminster Theological, and were just a ray of sunshine in the day...
I have no idea, shy of a miracle, how my body held out yesterday! Unbelievable amounts of walking...climbing...heat...and yet God gave me the strength to endure...I wanted so much to be able to last for the whole entire day, and God granted my wish!
After our meal, we headed out to the East Rim by car...this ended up being our favorite part of the journey. The views were even more spectacular, if that is even possible. It was cold by this time, still windy, very overcast, but not raining anymore...
God is good, every single day!!!

No "off the beaten path" observations today, other than this one moment we had soon after entering the park...we had just seen the canyon for the first time, the air was cool and crisp, and no one was around...we walked along the path and saw this little squirrel. He was sitting out on
ledge over the canyon, and we decided that he was 'praying'.... In other words, he knows who created him, and he was totally appreciating the beauty--seemingly aware of the magnitude of his surroundings...it was great!
