Scared 'O Death Valley!

It is VERY hot in Death Valley! Just an FYI! We drove through on our way to
Yosemite National Park yesterday...WOW!

Today's off the beaten path is not all all off the path..rather, it is the unavoidable path on the way to Yosemite!!! It took SO long to drive through--it was very interesting, and beautiful in a way, but I do not need to see it a second time....did I mention it was HOT in Death Valley??

In this picture I was very....H O T !!!!!!!!!

We were 190 feet below sea level at the Visitor's center...whre it was 105 degrees blasted H O T!

All in all, I am glad we did it..I have always wondered. But, because of my freakish nature, I had to fight the feeling that the car was going to die out, the air conditioner would give way, and I would start dying of heat stroke almost immediately...LOL Craig, as usual, was perfectly calm.

THENNNNNNNNNNNNNN..the scenery started to change...we could see some hills up ahead..

...then the hills became mountains~! The Sierra Nevada mountains!!

SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!! Also, not as HOT!

As the view was becoming spectacular again, we arrived at this sign:
Alas, this next part of the story will have to come tomorrow..I have to go eat ice cream now, with my hubby, my son and my beautiful daughter-in-law! Also, there is a very serious game of "Traders of Catan" to be had....
TOMORROW, we are off to San Francisco, and the Pacific Ocean!!!!
to be continued...
