What a week! In one week's time, our whole lives have changed--and not the way we would have imagined! But, God is in control, and we are eager to see what He will do...
Mikey: Michael is recovering from his car accident, slowly but surely, while he waits for the all clear signal for Boot camp. and is making plans to take classes at Ocean County College in the fall, as he waits, to remain on our insurance. His root canals start Wednesday. Please pray for Sarah Brevet, our superhero dentist, as she takes care of him. My mom, Barbara: My mom had her aortic valve replacement surgery yesterday. We are so thankful to say that the surgery was a complete success! Mom is in tremendous pain though, so please be praying for some quick relief and rest. Not only does she have pain in her chest, but her lower back hurts very much--between those two things, she has been unable to sleep. She can only bear it somewhat while she is sitting up in a chair, but even then it is quite bad. She has chest tubes, lines into her heart--lots of reasons for being unable to rest. She will hopefully be moved to a regular room tomorrow today (Sunday). She will be in the hospital for about 4 or 5 more days. After that, a short stay in rehab. My brother Alan is arriving Friday evening to help out. We have not seen each other in 5 years...this will be a wonderful highlight in the midst of this challenging situation! We feel God working in our family...we know He will provide, we know He will protect and carry us through. His promises never fail! Proverbs 3:5,6 He will show us what to do... I will write updates here daily for now, so I do not burden anyone with too much email. Thank you so much for your prayers!
