My personal thoughts as I experience the peace and tranquility of Evergreen Lodge

This is taken from my facebook profile, which I spent 30 minutes trying to log onto early in the morning at my wonderful Evergreen Lodge:
Day 1  Val Slininger   "is here, chillaxin at Evergreen Lodge...quite possibly one of the most peaceful places on the planet. I watied 30 minutes for the internet connection on these old computers to say this! Craig and Chris are hiking mountain, my sweet Mary is so relaxed that she went right back to sleep after her breakfast.."
Day 2  Val Slininger  "is up early, and down by the rec center enjoying Sumatra Reserve coffee from the Keurig (thank you Jesus) and a (alleged) "bagel". I do not blame these wonderful people at Evergreen Lodge for not knowing what a bagel is. How could they? We, from my beloved New Jersey (and New York, OBVIOUSLY) know what a BAGEL is...but, I am thankful for this round doughy thing..for now.  My people are nestled all snug in their beds. I had trouble sleeping last night. As much as I am loving my trip, and the breathtaking experience here in Yosemite, I am starting to miss my bed. That usually happens at the one week mark, which is where I am today. The thought of leaving our kids in California is heart wrenching. I am trying very hard to be content in each moment, and not worry about the leaving. Having a country in between us is so hard, but being able to have a time like this with them is absolutely precious. And worth the wait.  I cannot tell you how highly I recommend this place to anyone traveling in this area (if you do not mind cabin life). SUCH a family atmosphere...such great people.
oh p.s. the sun is coming up over the evergreens...it is mesmorizing. From where I am sitting right now, in the little rec center that's doors open like a barn to the outside courtyard, you can see the golden sun blast right through the pine boughs...you can hear the crows and ravens belting out the herald of the day's beginning. The air is cleaner than you would think possible...In the other room, they are playing blue grass very low, and I have to admit, it's perfect. lol I wish I could package this and send it to you all so you could feel what I am feeling right now. I am so warm and cozy in my new Yosemite hoodie, while the chilly air wrapped around me like a blanket. "
