We had her set up in her room fairly quickly--this is their third year as roommates, so they definitely know what they are doing!
They brought the record player, so within an hour they had the vinyl playing away...thrilled to be back on Eastern's campus and together again...the other best friend Jackie showed up soon thereafter, and all was good!
We left our dear girl tired, but happy!
She has a class this semester called the Beatles and Philosophy! She is so excited! She will also be T.A.ing for a prof who wants her to teach half the classes. She is looking forward to it!
...please pray for her as she readjusts to life here in America. It is a difficult journey, but a blessed one!!!
Paige and I headed back to Eastern two days later for Kate's 20th birthday! We took the three girls out to the Cheesecake Factory! Kate still cannot eat too much, as she readjusts to the American way of eating (no more rice and beans, or GOAT)...but she sure did enjoy what she DID eat! It was a wonderful night!
It was hard to have her come home and head right to college...I kept finding myself standing in her bedroom and looking at all her Ugandan souvenirs--and wishing for the day when I have time to just listen to her stories...but I am so grateful...grateful to God for bringing her home safely! Grateful for all that she experienced that she can bring home and share with all of us...grateful to have MY eyes opened to the atrocities that MUST NOT be ignored...God is good--every single day...
