So, this is the little angel that made me a Gramma!  He arrived on Monday September 10 at 6:37 pm.  Mary was in labor for 4 1/2 days before he made his arrival.  Mary is a champion, and incredibly strong and brave. We have spent these last 3 1/2 weeks in some sort of an ecstatic haze of joy and longing.  We know we are grandparents.  We have seen his gorgeous little face in pictures, and video, but we do not yet know his cry, his smell, the softness of his newborn skin.  

We haven't met little Ethan yet, but that moment is finally within our grasp!  Tomorrow at around 3 pm we should be driving into Christopher and Mary's driveway in California!  I can't even imagine the way it will feel to hold him for that first moment...but I cannot wait to find out! My dream, becoming reality!  

So, off I go to pack my things!  Our Gramma/Grampa adventure is underway, and I am determined to enjoy each and every moment!
