Day Two and three-Getting to know him....

So here we are, full fledged grandparents!  Day one still felt surreal.  By yesterday, I knew his cries and facial expressions.  By this morning, I could soothe him to sleep....I cannot believe how quick and strong the bond forms, once you have spent a little time together!  I know I am biased, and that it sounds like I am exaggerating, but this baby interacts already!  Ethan smiles AT you, coos AT you.  It is amazingly early for this, but, considering  considering his parents, I am going to venture to say that he even has a sense of humor already!

We had all day with Christopher and Mary and Ethan yesterday, and then today Chris had to go to school, so we spent the day with Mary and Ethan.  We even ventured out to downtown Vacaville, to the German bakery there, and had some coffee and treats.  I have gotten to feed him a bottle, change his diapers, brush his wavy hair, rock him to sleep, "talk" with him, sing to him...it is so much better than any dream I have ever had.

Ethan has been napping for hours on
Grampa's chest, while Mary takes a snooze.

He hates wearing clothes, much more
preferring to be in just a diaper.
He is funny, personable, and gorgeous.
He likes music, likes for his mommy to sing to him (she is singing to him in English and Spanish)--all this, and he is only 4 weeks old today!  We are planning his one month birthday party, which is Wednesday!  Pinch me, people, because I still cannot believe this is real!
The love affair continues!!
