Summer has officially begun in the Slininger household! Kate and Mike have been done with their college semesters for weeks, and I am loving that! Nick is done with his semester of seminary, and is able to take a month of school off now--he does have summer courses, but for now, he is able to spend some time with his new bride! Nicholas turns 23 on Monday, so we are celebrating with him on Sunday afternoon. Shayna is done with her semester also, so has been able to have some leisure time in between shifts at work. She is hostessing at a restaurant in New Brunswick. Nick continues to work for High Point Insurance, and is enjoying his work.
Kate is working part time at Great Pacific Frame Shoppe, part time at Bissey Glass, and is interning at the Ocean Star newspaper in Point Pleasant. In fact, she has 3 articles in today's paper! This is what she hopes to do in the future--reporting! I AM SO PROUD OF HER!
Mikey continues to work at Foodtown in Point Pleasant, and part time at Great Pacific Frame Shoppe. He and his girlfriend Nicole just celebrated one year of being together yesterday! We love Nicole, and are grateful to have her in our lives.
Christopher and Mary are doing well! Christopher is finishing up a trimester at Chiropractor school, and will be taking the next one off to complete his summer Army Training. He is training for a new position in the new unit, which require about a month. His new position will be in Medical Supply. Mary will be starting Yoga training in July, as well as Grad school in the fall-Marriage and Family counseling. Mary arrives tomorrow night for a nearly 2 weeks visit to NJ! She will be with us for the first few days and then head down to visit with her mom in Sicklerville. WE CANNOT WAIT!!!
Craig and I are in momma/daddy bliss with the kids around. We are enjoying summer not only with Mike, but with Kate, who was gone all last summer in Africa. Our goal, as always, it to fill the house and the yard with people--barbecue--play games--listen to music--just spend some time catching up with our loved ones, friends and family alike. Come on over!
The hammock is all set up!!!
