NOSTALGIA

I was feeling nostalgic tonight...
I wandered around the house and decided to take a few pictures of
some little pieces of my sweet memories from around my home.
They remind me of some loved ones that are so special to me.
They are little pieces of my heart...

Kate's first ballet shoe. I keep it on top of the entertainment center
so I can look at it whenever I need to..which is fairly often!

This is a sign I printed out to put next to
our dear dog Andy's cage out in the laundry room.
He died about 7 years ago, but I can't bring myself
to take it down. Andy was awesome...

Craig burned this into all the
furniture he made for us.
This is on the bookshelf.

This is a frozen snowball although it is not round anymore!)
from MANY years ago. In fact, we had it in our old
freezer, which we have had for more than
ten years now, and moved it over to the new one

This is a crystal ballerina chine type mobile, that Nicky gave Kate
when they were kids. She must have been
about 12. It is still hanging in her room.

This is the door frame behind the kitchen door
where we recorded our kids heights as they were growing up.
When I repainted the living room, I painted around it.
I refuse to paint over it..no matter what...

This is Mikey's Military book collection.
It is very special to him, so it is special to me.

This is a wooden carved camel
that Christopher brought back from his deployment in the
Middle East. It was a set of 6, one for each of us in the
family. Kate keeps them in her room.

This is a musical snow globe from Disneyworld
The kids bought it forus for our anniversary, when
we took a trip to Disney in 2003.
Nick found it tucked away and brought
out and set it up for us again.
Disneyworld is special to him also.
He went there on HIS honeymoon too!

This is an African love knot that Kate
brought back from Uganda for Craig and I.
We treasure it!

When Madelyn and Molly were about 1 and 2, we brought
them ballet stickers back from a trip to NC.
Madelyn ran around the house sticking them everywhere,
and asked me to lift her up so she could
put one on the bathroom mirror.
I cannot bring myself to take it off--so it remains there,
8 years later!

Mikey with baby Jake. Our neighbors, the Larkins,
framed this picture and gave it to us.
I think Mike was about 11.

This little one-armed bear is very special to me.
It was Christopher's.
He slept with it every night
for years.

This is Simba.
He was Andy's.
Now he is Jake's.
Jake loves him.

Wooden spoon man..
Nick made this in elementary school-
and of course, I will keep it forever.
I am sappy, I know...
This is definitely a permanent condition!

And so it goes....
